Belmont High School -- Home of the Sentinels!
Belmont is located in the Belmont Zone of Choice and is a historic part of the West Lake/Echo Park neighborhood. Belmont is rich in tradition and has been a staple of the community since 1923. The unique school also offers a variety of activities to our students, from athletics to the academics. There are currently 12 sport teams, 15+ clubs, and 10 AP courses offered. The school is also comprised with three unique academies that will help students in their choice of profession. The schools mascot is Sammy the Sentinel and the school colors are green and black.
Los Angeles Academy of Medical and Public Service (LAAMPS)
This academy incorporates many features of high school reform movements, which include creating a close-like family atmosphere, integrading academic and career technical education, and establishing viable business partnerships in order to meet key components of the academy model.
This academy focuses on technology to prepare students for university and careers in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment, key economies of Los Angeles, the multimedia capital of the world.
School of Science, Art and Green Engineering (SAGE)
This academy offers an academic environment where students become agents of change for themselves.
