International School of Languages
The International School of Languages teachers are dedicated to helping our students have a successful high school experience and graduate with concrete plans for college. Our teachers believe that students realize their potential and dreams when their culture is celebrated and their ideas and voices are listened to and valued. The curriculum stresses literacy in two or three languages and understanding of different cultures. The Academy emphasizes three years of a foreign language, college preparation classes, presentation skills, and service. Our hope is that by the time you leave Belmont you will speak two or even three languages well. We believe that strong communication skills is the most important preparation for success in college and careers in business, education, law, social services, government and healthcare. Our vision focuses on:
  • Honoring and celebrating the many voices and languages of our students
  • Literacy in English and in a second or third language
  • Understanding the multicultural forces that shape our world
  • Service to develop interpersonal skills and putting bilingual skills and cultural understandings into practice
